I have finally found something that worked and very quickly at that! ok, so I've created an image using Macrium Reflect. I can format, but when I copy file it says READONLY. All of a sudden today I started having problems with saving or backing up to it.

im using windows Xp pro, service pack 3 on an E machine 3.33 ghz . It might look impossible to find the right one, but I've fixed almost all types of USBs, expect some chinese copies of Kingston USBs. Smart Move! Messing with the registry can go bad in a hurry. Is there a way to write protect it for all computers.?

Be sure to select the right drive. It shouldn't be because you're using Windows 7 either. Windows 8 users can type regedit when viewing the Start screen.

In order for the registry changes to take effect, you will need to reboot your computer.
